Artificial intelligence is bringing substantial benefits to China, and more global efforts are needed to make AI breakthroughs for new growth and shared benefits, top industry leaders and government officials said on Tuesday.

Around 70 percent of those aged between 19 and 22 in China said they would place an order online via social networking sites, global consultancy Accenture discovered in a study based on 10,000 consumers in 13 countries, including China.

As China is promoting wind and photovoltaic power projects to boost its energy transformation, the nation's solar industry will offer more affordable prices in the next five years, said Shi Jingli, a researcher with the China Renewable Energy Center under the Energy Research Institute of the National Development and Reform Commission.

As China is becoming the economic power of 21st century, Walker said: "China's challenge is not to follow the great powers of previous centuries in using its power to accumulate more power with which to dominate others. Instead, it should share its power through engagement with others for, as President Xi says, the benefit of collective human progress."
